Now that I am in full blown bride mode I can't seem to stay away from BHLDN or Anthropologie! I have always loved BHLDN's dresses they always seem to have a great selection. I was browsing their sale section and fell in love with this glittery pearl embellished dress. The price was good and it seemed the perfect dress for my engagement party even though it had tons of negative reviews!
Well, I should have listened to the reviews. I ordered my normal size 8 and well that thing was TINY as in it would not come close to zipping... talk about buzz kill! So I had to order another dress almost immediately since I had a week to go which I will be sharing on the blog later on. SO fast forward to a few weeks later and well this dress now fits. I was about to box it up and return it when I decided to see if I could make myself fit into it and well, I do! I've been seeing a nutritionist since the beginning of the year and I have noticed a huge change in my body. I am now down to a size 6 which for me is a huge win! Now, to be honest I lost a ton of weight really quickly but I had the flu and all I wanted to do was eat soup and lay in bed. Now I am back onto eating smaller portions, exercising, and making better food decisions! It took me a bit to get used to the diet change but seeing my fat count go down and my waist get smaller is the motivation I need for wedding dress shopping in a few months.
So in the spirit of fitting into a new dress or two, I decided to style this dress and give it life! When I put it on I instantly felt like a 50's starlet. I added a fun beaded belt, vintage fur stole and my most uncomfortable heels to create a vintage inspired party look! The best part, this dress is still available. I do recommend sizing up because even at a size 6 it still fits tight in areas. Also add a petticoat underneath to give the skirt more volume!
